What do I need to bring with me to my fittings?

Accepted Answer

The essentials to all your fittings are your wedding shoes, suitable nude underwear (we can determine whether no bra is required at your first fitting) and if you have a veil. Please ensure you bring your wedding shoes with you as no guarantee can be given regarding hem length if different shoes are used. Re-hemming will incur an extra cost.

How can I book an appointment and when is your availability?

All appointments can be booked via phone or email on the contact page. Appointments are available on Friday's and Saturday's between 9am-3pm. First fittings are up to 60 minutes, second fittings up to 30 minutes and dress collections up to 30 minutes. I charge a fitting fee of £40.00 to cover all 2-3 appointments.

How long will my appointments last?

First fitting where you bring your wedding dress with you will be 60 minutes or shorter, dependent on complexity of alterations. All fittings thereafter are booked in for the same amount of time with the exception of dress collections only. These appointments will be up to 30 minutes.

Are appointments charged?

All appointments are charged at £40.00, which includes first and second fitting and a dress collection appointment.

Who can I bring to my appointment?

Accepted Answer

We ask for no more than 2 guests to comfortably accommodate you at your appointments, or you may want to come solo! Please get in touch if you require specific requirements.

Question 6

Do you offer any additional services?

Accepted Answer

We offer an optional dress steaming service for £40.00-£50.00 depending on your dress. This can be added to your initial quote or if you change your mind, at a later date, just let us know by email or phone. We ask you kindly give us no later than 14 day notice before your wedding date if this is a service you desire.

What are the most common alteration requests and how much does it cost?

The majority of bridal dresses often need a hem/length adjustment due to designers creating dresses for taller brides and allowing for heel height and a train. Other common alterations also include bodice/side seam tailoring, a bustle creation for the train and shoulder adjustment. The choice of the fabric and the garment’s construction will always influence the time and cost involved and will increase the price of alterations. 
Standard bridal alterations at Georgina Louise Bridal fall between £280.00-£650.00 including fittings, reflecting the specialist work undertaken. This price can fluctuate depending on the complexity of work required.
